Russia-Pakistan Relations: There has been improvement in relations between Russia and Pakistan in recent times. Moving forward with this improvement, both Pakistan and Russia have signed an agreement for energy projects, oil and gas trade. This agreement between the two countries was reached in a high level meeting on Thursday (December 12). During the meeting, discussions were held between the two countries regarding cooperation in trade, economic, scientific and technology. An agreement has been reached between Russia and Pakistan on issues like Russia’s investment in Pakistan Stream Gas Pipeline (PSGP), offshore drilling for oil and gas exploration. Let us tell you that both the countries have considered PSGP as a part of the basic infrastructure program. The objective of which is to ensure cheap gas supply.
According to the report of Pakistan’s website Tribune, the PSGP project is part of a larger basic infrastructure program. Under this program, the aim is to develop gas infrastructure and ensure supply of cheap gas. Russian company Operational Services Center supplies oil to Pakistan and the company has agreed to continue this oil supply in future also. The special thing is that both Russia and Pakistan have laid emphasis on the discovery of black gold i.e. oil and blue gold i.e. gas.
Many important agreements signed between Russia and Pakistan
Russian company Artel has promised to supply industrial communication systems for Pakistan’s gas and oil market. Russia has also expressed its desire to export coal and coal chemical products to Pakistan. This agreement between Pakistan and Russia also shows the improving relations between the two countries.
Will become a cause of concern for India
There are discussions going on between Russia and Pakistan to start direct air service, a decision on which can be taken soon. The situation getting better between these two countries is attracting everyone’s attention. This is happening because Russia has been India’s friend for many decades and now its friendship with Pakistan seems to be improving. It is noteworthy that in the recent past, Russia has emphasized on improving its relations with Pakistan. Some experts are also considering Russia’s better relations with Pakistan and China as a cause of concern for India.
